چکیده

By utilizing an irreducible inclusion of type IIIq2 factors coming from a free-product type action of the quantum group SUq(2), we show that the free group factor L(F∞) possesses irreducible subfactors of arbitrary index > 4. Combined with earlier results of Radulescu, this shows that L(F∞) has irreducible subfactors with any index value in {4 cos(π/n) : n ≥ 3} ∪ [4,+∞).

Dimitri Shlyakhtenko Lower Estimates on Microstates Free Entropy Dimension

By proving that certain free stochastic differential equations with analytic coefficients have stationary solutions, we give a lower estimate on the microstates free entropy dimension of certain n-tuples 1. In particular, for small q, q-deformed free group factors have no Cartan subalgebras. An essential tool in our analysis is a free analog of an inequality between Wasserstein distance and Fis...

Free Quasi-free States

To a real Hilbert space and a one-parameter group of orthogonal transformations we associate a C∗-algebra which admits a free quasi-free state. This construction is a freeprobability analog of the construction of quasi-free states on the CAR and CCR algebras. We show that under certain conditions, our C∗-algebras are simple, and the free quasi-free states are unique. The corresponding von Neuma...

Picard Groups of Topologically Stable Poisson Structures

We compute the group of Morita self-equivalences (the Picard group) of a Poisson structure on an orientable surface, under the assumption that the degeneracies of the Poisson tensor are linear. The answer involves mapping class groups of surfaces, i.e., groups of isotopy classes of diffeomorphisms. We also show that the Picard group of these structures coincides with the group of outer Poisson ...

R–Diagonal Elements and Freeness with Amalgamation

The concept of R-diagonal element was introduced in [5], and was subsequently found to have applications to several problems in free probability. In this paper we describe a new approach to R-diagonality, which relies on freeness with amalgamation. The class of R-diagonal elements is enlarged to contain examples living in non-tracial ∗-probability spaces, such as the generalized circular elemen...
